Real Madrid star Xabi Alonso is seriously considering moving to MLS at the end of the season, reports Punto Pelota.
The Spain international has yet to sign an extension to his contract that is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, which has led to speculations linking the midfielder with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
And while former club Liverpool and a number of Europe’s top sides are keeping a close eye on his contract talks, Punto Pelota has suggested that Alonso is thinking about moving to the MLS.
New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy have reportedly already contacted the player’s representatives to present a lucrative two-year deal.
Xabi Alonso is reportedly hoping to spend some time in the United States before he returns to Spain to end his playing days at boyhood club Real Sociedad.
The 31-year-old is expected to make his first appearance of the season in Saturday’s match against Malaga, where los Blancos are 1/5 to emerge triumphant.
