Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has reportedly accepted an offer from Al Sadd, AS can reveal.
The veteran footballer has another year left on his deal at Camp Nou, but he expressed his desire to leave this summer.
According to AS, Xavi has snubbed some interesting proposals from the MLS and accepted a three-year deal from Al Sadd worth €10 million per season with an option for a further year.
The 35-year-old will replace his former international teammate Raul Gonzalez Blanco in the Qatari side, after the veteran forward joined New York Cosmos.
Xavi is, therefore, set to leave Barcelona after 24 years and no doubt his presence at Camp Nou will be missed.
However, the club icon has struggled for playing time under Luis Enrique and his departure will further improve the first team chances of Rafinha and Sergi Roberto, who have shown a great deal of potential in the current campaign.
