(GSM) – Xavi is one of Barcelona’s key players and it’s hard to imagine a Barca without their playmaker.
However, the 30-year-old has admitted that he considered leaving the Blaugrana on a number of occasions during his career.
Xavi is in his twelft season as a first team player and he has established himself as a vital part of the most successful Barca team in history. He already won twelve trophies with the Catalans during his illustrous career.
“Many times I thought about leaving Barcelona. In the early years, I knew there was a player ahead of me, (his current coach Josep Guardiola) and knew that I could not play too much, and I thought about leaving,” he told Canal +.
“I was a newcomer in the first team, only 17 or 18 years old and these comparisons did me no good. A couple or three years, too. It wasn’t working, it was the era of Frank Rijkaard. Even now I do not know if the club had intended to sell me.”
