Xavi Simons, the highly rated Paris Saint-Germain youngster, is set to join PSV Eindhoven on loan after signing a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Having passed through a few development levels at Barcelona’s La Masia, Simons joined PSG’s Under-19 side in 2019. He’s accounted member of the first-team squad since January this year and has made 11 senior appearances in all competitions since, with one assist to his name so far.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, the 19-year-old can play as a striker or, on the other hand, a central midfielder if need be.
The new contract with PSG hasn’t been signed yet but it’s fully agreed, a matter which has been very important for the French giants, and the talks about the proposed loan to PSV Eindhoven are progressing well with PSV head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy keen to have Simons in his team and help his young compatriot develop further.
