Xavi Simons is on his way to RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has claimed that Simons, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, will undergo a medical early next week.
Romano wrote on X: “Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig from PSG, here we go! Medical booked early next week for Xavi.
“Simons has also informed Bayern in the recent hours, he’s returning to Leipzig… despite Premier League clubs late calls.
“As revealed in April, it will be loan move. NO buy clause.”
Simons spent the 2023-24 season on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain. The 21-year-old Netherlands international star was superb for the German club last season and also played at the UEFA Euro 2024 finals in Germany. The youngster scored eight goals and gave 11 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches and scored two goals and provided two assists in seven starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League last season.
