Xavi urges Eto’o to stay with Barca

Barcelona ace Xavi has urged Cameroon international striker Samuel Eto’o to remain at the club.

Manchester City have made a £25million bid for the highly-rated striker this week.

“Fortunately there are intelligent people at the club. Last season everything was sorted out well,” Xavi told Sport.

“If you go to speak to Samu face-to-face and talk to him properly then there are no problems.

“We know that he capable of and this season we have had so much from him, he is a vital player.

“I do not know what Pep and Txiki (Begiristain – director of football) will do, but if it was down to the players we would consider him to be the number one.”
