Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure is not closing door on potential move to Serie A in the future.
The Manchester City out-of-sorts star is not getting any younger but despite being 34 he is still regarded as world-class footballer and would be welcomed with open arms by a number of big-name European clubs.
As a player who did not enjoy the best of relationships with Manchester City manager, Yaya Toure managed to overcome all issues he had with Pep Guardiola but is nevertheless losing his place in the Citizens’ first team.
Having only made two Premier League matches thus far in the season, Yaya Toure could leave Manchester City in January or at the end of the season.
And speaking to the Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport a move to Serie A could be on the cards while reflecting on a failed Inter Milan move.
“There were several contacts with Italian football in the past, but then I followed different, important paths like Barcelona and Manchester City. But you never say never in life.”, Toure said.
Toure will be travelling to Italy with man City this week as his side take on red-hot Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Citizens stand at 31/21 betting odds to win in Naples.
