Florent Malouda may finally be on his way out at Chelsea after Spanish side Villarreal plan a £9 million bid for the midfielder, according to the Daily Mirror.
Numerous top European clubs like Bayern Munich were said to be interested in the former Lyon winger, however Malouda has publicly stated that he wishes to fulfil his four-year contract at Stamford Bridge and stay until 2011.
Malouda was brought to Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho but has found it difficult to cement a place in the first team under both Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari.
The bid is said to be short of Chelsea’s valuation however as the London club are hopeful of regaining the full £13.5 million they paid for the winger. However, with Scolari publicly stating that all his players would be for sale at the right price, Villarreal are sure to test Chelsea’s resolve with this bid.
