Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina has an agreement to join Spanish giants Barcelona, according to his official representative.
The Colombian is widely regarded as one of the leading central defenders in South America, and a big club move appears on the cards.
Even though Mina has only joined Palmeiras this summer, he now looks set to join a top European club, and his agent reveals there is a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona.
“Yes, a pre-agreement was signed and there’s the possibility that the kid goes to Barcelona,” agent Jair Mina told Caracol Radio.
“It’s only a pre-agreement, so there’s still the chance that other teams to make an offer, so any move would depend on circumstances and the desire of the player – other top European teams are interested.”
Catalan media outlet Sport claims that Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also keen on the player who has a contract until June 2020.
The same source claims that Barcelona have secured the first option on the highly rated defender, allowing them to sign Mina for €9 million this season or €10 million a year later.
Yerry Mina has had an impressive start to his career at Palmeiras, scoring 4 goals in his first 8 league appearances, while he also got on the scoresheet in Colombia’s 2-2 draw with Uruguay a week ago.
