L’Equipe understands that Bundesliga outfit Schalke have reached an agreement with Sevilla to sign Ukrainian midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka.
The highly rated footballer only joined los Rojiblancos last summer, but he does not appear to be in the first team plans of new head coach Jorge Sampaoli.
As a result, Sevilla are ready to let him leave Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, with Veltins Arena reportedly his next destination.
According to L’Equipe, Schalke will sign Konoplyanka on a season-long loan, while an obligatory purchase option will be set to €16 million.
The Miners have struggled in the creative department ever since they cashed in on Julian Draxler and chances are the Ukraine star will be a welcoming addition to the squad.
Schalke have already managed to recruit several quality footballers this summer, with Naldo, Breel Embolo, Coke, Abdul Rahman Baba and Nabil Bentaleb all arriving at Veltins Arena in the summer transfer window.
