French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff looks set to quit Stade Gerland at the end of the current campaign, reports Le 10 Sport.
The 27-year-old has just over a year left on his deal with Lyon and club chiefs have confirmed they would have to cash in on him unless the player agrees to a contract extension.
Le 10 Sport has suggested that Gourcuff is hoping to continue his career elsewhere following several very disappointing seasons at Stade Gerland.
The former France international was regarded as one of world’s best midfielders when he joined Lyon in a big money move from Bordeaux, but he never quite managed to prove his worth at Olympique.
Gourcuff did show some improvement this term, having managed 3 goals and 5 assists in 14 league outings, but numerous injury problems prevented him from keeping the rich vein of form.
Lyon face his former club Bordeaux at Stade Chaban Delmas, with les Gones 11/5 to claim maximum points.
