Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has dropped a fresh hint that he is prepared to quit St James’ Park in favour of joining a top European club.
The Frenchman had expressed his desire to leave the Magpies this summer, only to come to terms with staying at the club after failing to move during the summer transfer window.
He has since continued to be linked with Europe’s high-profile clubs, and Cabaye now confirms he is still looking to leave.
“I miss the Champions League. I’ll finish this season with Newcastle and concentrate on the coming months and then we’ll see,” Cabaye said on Club Liza, a programme on RTL.
The 27-year-old has been linked with Arsenal, PSG and Roma in the past few weeks, while Manchester United could also return for the highly rated midfielder having shown interest this summer.
Cabaye has largely impressed in English Premier League, having made 70 league appearances and scored 12 goals in the process.
Newcastle United have been in fine form of late, winning last three Premiership matches and they are evens to extend the run at home against West Brom.
