Manchester United have completed the signing of England international winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa.
United revealed the signing on their website on Thursday without disclosing the transfer fee, but British media reports put the sum at about 16 million pounds.
Young, who turns 26 next month, has enjoyed a fantastic season with Aston Villa, making 34 English Premier League appearances and scoring seven goals.
He is, however, more known as a provider and only Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas has created more goals for teammates in the last five seasons.
Young began his playing career at Watford before a 2007 move to Villa Park for eight million pounds, going on to make 193 appearances for the Birmingham outfit.
He made his debut for England in November 2007 and has scored two goals from his 15 caps.
Young is Sir Alex Ferguson’s second signing of the off-season after the capture of Blackburn defender Phil Jones, who joined earlier this month for a reported fee of 16.5 million pounds.
