Rio Ave striker Helder Guedes will think twice next time he tries to do a Panenka penalty.
In a desperate attempt to emerge a hero from his team’s Primeira Liga clash against Tondela on Monday night, the Rio Ave forward did exactly the opposite as he went on to infuriate his coach who subbed him off immediately.
Guedes first refused to hand the ball over to Rio Ave’s designated penalty taker and even had the courage to try a Panenka which went horribly wrong.
His failed effort led to his team settling for a 1-1 draw which leaves them still chasing the historic fifth-place finish.
