Four goals in each half led the Spanish Under-20 side to an impressive 8-0 victory over Tahiti in their first World Youth Championship game.

Goals from Aaron Niguez in the 11th and 15th minutes gave the Spanish a comfortable and early lead, after which Emilio Nsue doubled the gap scoring in minutes 17 and 32.

Fran Merida netted Spain’s fifth in the 74th minute, followed by two goals from Kike (79th and 86th). The eighth and final goal came from Ander Herrera with just one minute left in regular time.

Spain, who face Nigeria in their next group game, lead Group B ahead of Venezuela. The South Americans beat Nigeria 1-0 earlier on Friday.
