Putting in an impressive showing against Fortuna Dusseldorf last week, RB Leipzig will travel to a struggling Hannover on Friday night.

Starting with Thomas Dull’s Hannover side, coming off the back of a 5-1 hammering away at league leaders Borussia Dortmund last weekend, Friday’s hosts are in pole position to face the drop to Bundesliga 2 next season. With only their goal difference keeping them above Nurnberg at the foot of the table, it will be Hannover’s continued defensive struggles giving Dull the biggest headache. Shipping nine goals in their last three appearances, they are yet to record a clean sheet in their last 17 top-flight matches, a run that stems all the way back to the start of August. Holding the third worse defensive record in the top-flight, we’re backing another tough nights work for Hannover.

As for the visitors, bouncing back from their close fought 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago, RB Leipzig remains in pole position to secure another top four finish. Putting four past Fortuna Dusseldorf last weekend and arguably their best performance since the turn of the New Year, one man to watch for the visitors will be Denmark international Yussuf Poulsen. Scoring a brace at the Merkur Spiel-Arena last Saturday, the 24-year-old has now scored four goals in his last five Bundesliga outings. Given Hannover’s recent defensive issues, we’re backing Poulsen to extend his goalscoring tally on Friday.
