Zabaleta believes Rice can be a West Ham great

During a recent interview, Pablo Zabaleta stated that he thinks Declan Rice could become an all time great for West Ham United. Zabaleta, who is one of the Hammers’ veteran stars following his spell with Manchester City, is moving towards the latter stage of his career – while Rice is only just getting started.

The 19 year old, who joined West Ham from Chelsea back in 2014, has been proving himself in the first team since making his professional debut last year. Zabaleta has clearly noticed that, insisting that the club should offer him a contract extension in order to lock him down to a long term deal.

Rice has been attracting the attention of clubs from around English football, and if he can continue to impress in the Premier League, then there’s a chance that he’ll draw the attention of other teams around Europe. The Hammers return to action against Macclesfield in the League Cup tomorrow night.
