Manchester City have signed Columbus Crew goalkeeper Zack Steffen who will be moving to Etihad in July 2019, the MLS side confirmed.
Steffen will join the Premier League champions on a four-year deal and the Ohio-based franchise claims fee City have agreed to pay is the largest Columbus Crew have ever received. The amount has not been disclosed, however.
Zack Steffen is no stranger to playing in Europe. The American international moved to Columbus Crew from German side Freiburg in 2016 and went on to make 71 appearances for the MLS franchise.
Described as one of the outstanding talents in the United States of America, the 23-year-old custodian started his footballing career at the University of Maryland.
His career took off in 2017 when he became the Columbus Crew first-choice goalkeeper. Steffen earned his US national team debut in January 2018 against Bosnia-Herzegovina and has six caps to date.
