Manchester United winger Wilfred Zaha has reiterated his desire to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford next season as opposed to going out on loan, the Mail Online understands.
The 20 year olds injury time equaliser in United’s friendly against Cerezo Osako helped the Premier League champions avoid a third defeat in four pre-season games, and Zaha is keen to get more game time once the season gets underway.
The one-time England international became Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing as Manchester United manager back in January, but spent the remainder of last season back on loan with Crystal Palace.
However, following reports that he could once again return to Selhurst Park, Zaha has made it clear that would prefer to compete with Ashley Young, Antonio Valenica and Nani for a starting birth under David Moyes.
Zaha’s arrival has been endorsed by the new Manchester United manager, and by defender Rio Ferdinand.
‘Wilfred is a fantastic talent, that’s why you pay £15m for a kid,’ said Ferdinand.
‘He is raw, with great individual skills and the early indications are that he is a hard worker.’
