Zaki resigns as coach of Morocco´s Wydad

Badou Zaki has resigned as coach of Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca a week on from a 1-0 loss city rivals Raja which saw his side concede top spot, team officials said on Friday.

Former Moroccan international and ex-Wydad player Hassan Benabicha has taken over as caretaker manager.

Officials said that “Badou Zaki has stepped down for family reasons” after two years in the post and with just four games to go this season.

Zaki, African player of the year in 1986 and who spent six years in the Spanish league with Mallorca, was not immediately available for comment.
