(GSM) – Veteran defender Gianluca Zambrotta has added another year to his contract at Italian side Milan, where he is now set to play until the summer of 2012.
The 33-year-old joined Milan from Barcelona in 2008 after two seasons in Spain. The previous seven he had spent at Juventus.
Zambrotta’s past season was marred by injury troubles but the matches he did play, were enough for the ‘Rossoneri’ to offer the player a new contract.
The Como-born player also formed part of the Italian squad that won the World Cup in 2006, and also played at the – for Italy much less successful – tournament in South Africa this summer.
