AC Milan defender Gianluca Zambrotta said his side wants to add next season’s Champions League to their 2010-11 Serie A title.
Milan’s Scudetto success last season was their first since 2004, while they last won Europe’s premier cup competition in 2007.
Zambrotta said he believed more trophies could be just around the corner:
“We’re AC Milan, we’re a great team and we want to keep on winning. We won the championship after many years and now we want more success in Europe and the world,” Zambrotta said.
Zambrotta added that manager Massimiliano Allegri’s success in his first season in charge at the San Siro was an ominous sign for the club.
“Well, this is good. Allegri has done a good job after his first year with a major side – he won the league title. We hope (Gian Piero) Gasperini won’t do as well, because he’s joining Inter (to manage). Therefore we hope Allegri performs better,” the 34-year-old said.
