Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini has looked into his crystal ball for the new season and seen success for Juventus and the Rosanero. “Juventus will win the Scudetto,” he told Radio Radio TV this afternoon. “They’ll finish ahead of Inter with Milan in third.” And what of his own Sicilian outfit? Boss Walter Zenga raised eyebrows by claiming they would be going for the title, but Zampa is a little less confident but still ambitious.

“We’ll finish fourth,” he declared. “That is our objective, but we must always be at our best and only the championship will decide whether that is the case.” Turning to market matters, the fiery President insisted that Lazio target Fabio Simplicio would be staying and that Nicolas Burdisso wouldn’t be arriving from Inter. “Zenga believes in Simplicio,” added Zamparini. “Fabio wants to stay at Palermo and that will be the case. We’ll extend his contract. “As for Burdisso, he is a good player but we are not interested because we are happy with our defensive set up as it is.”
