(GSM) – Internazionale veteran Javier Zanetti has assured the club’s faithful that his side will rise to the challenge.
The defending Serie A champions are winless in four rounds, a statistic comparable to their poor run in the 2004/05 campaign.
Following their defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Milan, the Nerazzurri lost again at Chievo with their last successive defeats dating back to February 2006.
But Inter skipper Zanetti, who led his side to a famous Treble last season, insists that the Black-Blues will rise again.
“Our squad is very strong and we have character, so we will emerge from this difficult time with our heads held high,” said Zanetti on Inter Channel.
“Unfortunately the injuries mean we never get to play the same line-up twice, but we are not looking for alibis.
“We certainly weren’t lacking hunger in Verona and Sergio Pellissier scored the opener against the run of play.
“Sadly Eto’o’s goal came too late to make a difference, but we deserved better from this match.”
