Inter captain Javier Zanetti has poured cold water on rumours that he will retire at the end of the current campaign.
The Argentine had hinted earlier this term that this could be his last season, but it seems that he has had a change of hearts.
Even if he couldn’t help his side avoid 2-1 defeat to Juventus in Derby d’Italia, the 39-year-old revealed that he plans to play on for another season.
“I think I will play for another season,” the veteran defender confessed to Mediaset Premium.
Javier Zanetti joined Inter from Banfield in 1995 and has since missed just a handful of matches for the Neroazzurri in all competitions.
According to club owner Massimo Moratti, the Argentine is still one of the first players to arrive at a training ground and one of the last to leave, while he seems to have no problems with the hectic schedule.
Javier Zanetti has already made 44 competitive appearances for Inter this season, and he was substituted just two times this term.
