According to a recent report from Sport Italia, Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is open to the possibility of joining Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window. Any potential deal between the two parties could wind up seeing defender Toby Alderweireld going in the opposite direction, which is a move that has been heavily rumoured for quite some time now.
The 20 year old is said to be the primary target of Tottenham, and has been for a good few months now. The belief is that they’ve officially opted out of the idea of signing both Giovani Lo Celso and Dani Ceballos, with the latter being heavily linked with a move to their North London rivals Arsenal.
Now, with Zaniolo seemingly being available, it really does feel like they’re going to throw their full weight behind this in more ways than one.
Whether or not it comes off, of course, is a different story altogether.
