Zappacosta set for Roma loan

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Davide Zappacosta is on the verge of joining Premier League side Chelsea on a season long loan. He has not yet featured in the starting XI for the Blues this season under Frank Lampard, and he isn’t considered to be of all too much value to the club anymore. He is set to take part in a medical later on this week, as the 27 year old prepares to start the next chapter of his career.

Zappacosta has always been viewed as one of the most underrated defenders in the Premier League, and is looking for a chance to prove that elsewhere.

Some fans have been pretty surprised by this decision if it does indeed go through, as it would further restrict the options that Lampard has at the back – which is the last thing that the Blues need at this moment in time.
