Former Polish international Thomas Zdebel signed for Bundesliga highflyers Bayer Leverkusen on a six-month contract for a fee believed to be 200,000 euros from relegation-threatened Bochum on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old had fallen out of favour with the Bochum coach at the beginning of January and been told to train with the reserves.
Leverkusen are the third Bundesliga side Zdebel has played for, having previously been at Cologne (1993-97) and subsequently signed for Bochum in 2003. In all he has scored eight goals in 189 matches in Germany.
Leverkusen are fifth in the table after 17 matches, just three points off leaders Hoffenheim.
