Former Brazil international midfielder Ze Roberto said on Saturday that he intends to stay at German club Hamburg until the end of his contract in 2011.
“There’s no reason to leave the club,” Ze Roberto told the club website.
“My family and I feel very good in Germany and at Hamburg. The most important thing is that I’ve found a family at HSV.”
The 35-year-old added that he had a “very positive” meeting with Hamburg coach Armin Veh at the beginning of the week.
“I quickly realised that I was on the same wavelength,” he said.
“Our objectives are the same.”
Ze Roberto enjoyed a fine spell of form at the beginning of the 2009-10 Bundesliga season, as Hamburg climbed to the summit of the table before eventually finishing seventh.
The former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich player had been linked with a lucrative move to Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls in recent weeks.
