Zebina talks up MLS switch

French defender Jonathan Zebina has admitted that he is interested in a January switch to the MLS.

The veteran centre-back joined Toulouse in the summer of 2012, and he enjoyed a bright start to his career at Stade Municipal.

However, Zebina has been struggling for playing time over the last six months and only made one substitute appearance in the league this term.

The Frenchman now admits he may have to leave le Tefece in search of first team football, citing MLS as his preferred destination.

“You have to remain positive, but things start to become complicated,” Zebina explained to beIN Sport.

“I will try to change the situation, but if nothing changes before the winter break then I will try to find a different solution.

“A favoured destination? USA would be perfect. It is a country that has always attracted me and one where football is developing.”

Jonathan Zebina started his career at Cannes, but it was in Italian Serie A that he enjoyed the best years of his playing days.

The centre-back made 234 Serie A appearances playing for Cagliari, Roma and Juventus, winning two league titles in the process.

Zebina’s Toulouse play host to Rennes next weekend, and they are 21/20 to extend their winning run to three matches.
