Zenit bid for Stefan Savic

Russian daily newspaper Izvestia has revealed that Zenit have submitted an official proposal for Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic.

The Russian Premier League champions are determined to add a new centre-back in the winter and they have reportedly made the Montenegrin their number one target.

According to Izvestia, Zenit recently contacted the player’s employers to present them a €13 million bid for his services.

The Russian club have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old for quite a while now, having first been alerted of his potential when he was playing for Partizan Belgrade.

And while the latest offer is likely to be considered at Artemio Franchi, chances are that Fiorentina will opt against selling one of their prized assets midway through the season.

Stefan Savic has been in fine form ever since he joined Viola from Manchester City in the summer of 2012, and has scored a total of 2 goals in 35 Serie A starts for the club.
