Zenit St Petersburg are considering a January move for FC Porto star Steven Defour, reports Izvestia.
In spite of the bright start to the season, the Russian giants are eager to further reinforce the squad in the winter.
According to Izvestia, Belgian midfielder Steven Defour is one of the players on their lengthy hit-list.
With summer signing Anatoliy Tymoshchuk nearing the end of his playing days and often used in the heart of defence, signing a holding midfielder is a priority.
Zenit officials see Defour as a perfect replacement for Igor Denisov, who was first sold to Anzhi this summer and then moved to Dinamo Moscow.
The Belgian has another three years left on his deal at Estadio do Dragao, but it is believed he would be available for mere €8 million.
Defour, 25, has finally managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Porto, and has featured in all five league games this season.
