Russian champions Zenit are closing in on Torino central defender Kamil Glik, Russian daily newspaper Izvestia understands.
The club from Sankt Petersburg plan to shake up their defensive options in the summer and they want to make the Pole their first choice centre back.
The latest reports suggest the two clubs are already negotiating a summer transfer, although they could face stiff competition from other interested sides.
Namely, Wolfsburg, Newcastle, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow are all keen on the 28-year-old footballer, who has developed into one of Serie A’s leading defenders.
Glik first helped Torino secure promotion to the elite division before going on to score 10 goals in 127 top flight outings for Granata.
His suitors Zenit are involved in a four-way title chase with CSKA Moscow, Rostov and Lokomotiv Moscow and they can be backed at 13/8 to defend the league trophy.
