Talk Sport are today reporting that Zenit St Petersburg could join the race to sign Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United.
AC Milan are the other side that have been heavily linked with the want away striker and now Zenit have claimed their interest in him.
The Bulgarian has had a frustrating time at the English Premier League side and was not given may chances in the starting eleven by Sir Alex Ferguson last campaign.
He is United’s record signing but it is being suggested that £5 million may be enough to secure the 31-year-olds services.
The Russian Champions are looking to build a side that can compete in the domestically as well as in the Champions League.
On the other hand, the Serie A team are looking to find a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They finished as runners-up in the Italian top flight last season.
There is no doubt that under the right management, Berbatov can be one of the best players around. No-one can doubt his ability, however his attitude comes into question on a regular basis.
At 31, this is certainly a massive decision for the forward as the next few years could be his last chance to play at the highest level.
