The Daily Mirror are reporting that Brazilian international Hulk could be close to making a move to Zenit St Petersburg after the Russian club have apparently submitted a £40 million bid for the striker.
Hulk is currently at Portuguese side Porto but his future has been under some doubt for a while now and this summer’s transfer window could be when he finally leaves.
The 26-year-old is competing for his country at the Olympic Games at the minute so will not decide where to play his football until after the final on Saturday.
English Premier League club Chelsea has been linked with the power-house attacker, however this bid from Zenit is likely to end their hopes of signing him.
It is being suggested that the Russian Champions will also offer Porto Portugal international Bruno Alves, which could be a deal too good to turn down.
Zenit are certainly set to be busy in the transfer market and are not afraid to splash the cash. The signing of Hulk would prove that they mean business not just domestically, but in the Champions League as well.
The ball could now be in his court and he will know how important it is to make the right decision.
