Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola claims that Zenit have emerged as favourites for FC Porto hotshot Yacine Brahimi.

The Dragons seem ready to cash in on their star player and just few weeks ago it was believed that Liverpool would win the chase for the midfielder’s signature.

However, the talks between the two clubs have since fallen through and the latest reports claims Zenit have moved to the front of the queue.

The Russian giants recently cashed in on Hulk and they clearly want Brahimi to succeed the Brazilian attacker.

The two clubs are close to reaching an agreement over a €35 million deal, with the Algerian set to sign a four-year deal with an option for a further year.

Yacine Brahimi, 26, has enjoyed two very successful seasons with FC Porto after joining from Granada, having managed 22 goals and 20 assists in 86 competitive outings for the Dragons.
