Zenit St Petersburg have offered €13 million for forward Simone Pepe, according to Tuttosport.
Former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is a keen admirer of the Italy international and he is looking to bring him to Russia.
The player who can operate on the wing or as a centre forward has spent last season at Juventus on loan from Udinese.
The Bianconeri are preparing to make the transfer permanent, although new boss Antonio Conte is reportedly not too keen on the player.
Zenit boss Luciano Spalletti decided to act as soon as he was informed of the situation, having offered €13 million for the 27-year-old.
Juventus have reportedly turned down the initial bid, probably hoping to get more money for the wantaway midfielder.
