According to Talk Sport, Russian side Zenit St Petersburg are keen on signing Yann M’Vila from French side Rennes.
Zenit are looking to build a side that can compete in the Champions League this season and retain their league title.
M’Vila put in some fantastic performances for Rennes last campaign and that has got him noticed by plenty of big clubs around Europe.
His good form could only help Rennes finish sixth in Ligue 1 and now the French international may want to move away from the club to take his career to the next level.
Zenit have been linked with a number of players in this summer’s transfer window and should they secure M’Vila’s services, will certainly show their intentions for the season.
It was suggested that English Premier League side Arsenal had been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old but they could miss out as the Russians are apparently preparing a big bid which is in excess of £11 million.
With Jack Wilshire looking like missing the start of the new campaign Arsene Wenger may look to strengthen in the centre of midfield which could see them step up their interest in M’Vila.
It is certainly a story to keep an eye on.
