Zenit St Petersburg interested in Lingard

According to a recent report from Daily Star, Zenit St Petersburg are interested in making a move for Manchester United star Jesse Lingard.

The England international has seen his form dip over the course of the last year or so to the point where it seems fairly likely that he’ll leave Old Trafford sooner rather than later. In recent days we’ve seen interest come in from Tottenham Hotspur as Jose Mourinho continues to make a splash in the transfer market, but now, Russian giants Zenit are also in the mix.

Lingard has the potential to do some damage in most top leagues across Europe, but perhaps he wants to take a step back by trying his hand at Russian football.

Spurs have been pretty ruthless on going after the players they really want during the transfer window but United may be hesitant to sell Lingard to one of their Premier League rivals.
