(GSM) – Chelsea’s Yuri Zhirkov insists he is happy at Chelsea. The Russian winger has dismissed the reports that stated he is unhappy at Stamford Bridge.
The Russia international has struggled to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s first team after moving from CSKA Moscow in the summer. He was linked with a loan move to Dynamo Kiev.
Zhirkov says he is very optimistic about his future at Chelsea. He also says he is in a different situation to compatriot Roman Pavlyuchenko, who has been frozen out at Spurs this season.
“I have just one dream for 2010. To play, play and play. All the talk about a move is only rumours,” Zhirkov told Russian newspaper Sport Express.
“When you’re not playing, it feels very bad and everything seems strange. So I perfectly understand Roman Pavlyuchenko, who dreams of going on the field.
“But now I’m playing more or less regularly so my mood is very different.
“Be sure to write that, today, Zhirkov is a footballer with Chelsea and hopes to pursue a career at this club.”
