Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has reportedly decided to allow striker Karim Benzema to leave the club at the end of the season.
While chairman Florentino Perez is keen to offload the Frenchman and recruit a world-class striker to replace him, the head coach wanted Benzema to stay and prove his worth.
However, latest reports suggest that Zidane has finally changed his mind and that he will give the green light for los Blancos to cash in on his compatriot.
The 30-year-old has been underperforming at Santiago Bernabeu for quite some time, and he only managed 4 goals in 22 La Liga outings this term.
Benzema scored a total of 126 goals in 263 La Liga matches during the nine years in Madrid, which is a pretty modest return for a Real Madrid number one striker.
