Zidane confirms Varane will stay at Real Madrid

Real Madrid are not doing well this season. The still current European champions have crashed out of their favourite competition in round of 16 against Ajax and have known they will not win La Liga for months now. After an exit in Copa del Rey, Real Madrid were hit by reality – no trophies for them this season.

Zinedine Zidane was not at the club for the most part of the season, but with his return, things did not change all that much. Real Madrid continued playing poorly and now with a 0-0 draw against Getafe and a 1-0 loss to the almost relegated Rayo Vallecano, they sit nine points behind second placed Atletico Madrid and 18 points behind the already crowned champions. However, Zidane found one positive thing.

“The positive point of this season finale is that Varane will stay,” he told at a news conference after Madrid’s shock 1-0 loss to Rayo on Sunday night. So the rumours about potential move to Manchester United can officially stop.
