Real Madrid manager is counting on Marco Asensio, according to Marca.
The 23-year-old hasn’t exactly had the best of seasons so far, though that could easily be said of a number of Real players. The team, Asensio included, have struggled with making up the numbers in attack after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, and the 2018/19 season is likely to end without a single trophy addition to their rich cabinet.
Asensio played quite a lot at the start of the campaign under Julen Lopetegui, but he lost his place when Santiago Solari replaced the former Spain coach in November. Solari has recently been sacked as well, and Zidane has returned to the Santiago Bernabeu dugout after quitting last summer.
Throughout the season, Asensio has been linked with departure from the Spanish capital, with Juventus being mooted as the likeliest destination, but with Zidane assuring the attacking midfielder he is being counted on, it seems he will be staying put.
