Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane recently said that it was a dream of Kylian Mbappe to play for Real some day, prompting some angry backlash from Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo.
Leonardo was not happy with Zidane’s words and he asked the Frenchman to stop trying to destabilize Mbappe and his relationship with PSG.
Such a strategy when it comes to top-level targets is nothing new for top Spanish clubs. Both Real and Barcelona have been known to work hard on disrupting players they want with public attempts of tempting and taunting.
And Zidane has now made it clear that he has no intention of stopping. He claims that all he said was what the player had said himself, and speaking to the press ahead of his team’s clash with Eibar on Saturday, he didn’t want to discuss Leonardo or his request any further. He is adamant about what he said, and he would say it again every time the subject is brought up.
There were recently some rather speculative reports about Liverpool preparing a huge bid for Mbappe as well, but manager Jurgen Klopp dismissed them quickly.
