Zidane wants Benzema to stay

French media outlet Le 10 Sport claims that Karim Benzema will not be leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The France international has been heavily linked with a summer exit and he reportedly emerged as a top target for AC Milan.

However, head coach Zinedine Zidane has told the club chiefs in no uncertain terms that Benzema is not for sale.

Despite the fact that the forward appears to have lost his goalscoring touch, the manager believes he is very important member of the team and still sees him as his first choice centre forward.

Karim Benzema, nonetheless, faces a fight to keep his place in the side, with Alvaro Morata using every opportunity to assert himself.

The talented Spaniard has 11 goals in just 965 minutes of La Liga football after bagging a hat-trick in midweek, as opposed to Benzema scoring 9 goals in 1476 minutes.
