Belgian Tom Saintfiet has been named new Zimbabwe coach, state media reported Saturday.
The Herald said Saintfiet was confirmed as coach on Friday after a Zimbabwe Football Association board meeting that brought to an end a week of talks.
Saintfiet, who had been coaching Nambia, will be assisted by Norman Mapeza, the former caretaker coach and team captain, and Madinda Ndlovu who coaches a local premiership team.
Zimbabwe are in Group A of the African Cup of Nations 2012 qualifier with Mali, Cape Verde and Liberia, and ground out a 1-1 draw against the latter team in their first outing earlier this month.
