Hakim Ziyech of Ajax has become an extremely sought-after player, following his team’s heroic exploits in this season’s Champions League. They were a second away from reaching the final of the competition when a goal by Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Moura brought their magnificent run to a halt.
Ziyech’s fantastic performances were among the main reasons for Ajax’s European success, which was followed by the winning of the domestic double in Netherlands.
However, with many of their stars poised to leave the club this summer – Frenkie de Jong is already gone to Barcelona, Matthijs de Ligt is practically standing at the exit door – it will be interesting to see how the side is rebuilt.
Ajax Sporting director Marc Overmars has revealed, according to Liverpool Echo, that Ziyech has the club’s promise to let him leave when a suitable offer arrives. Bayern Munich, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United have all been linked with the winger, but now report says Liverpool are keeping a watchful eye to.
It is believed that an offer of around £25 million would be sufficient to trigger his buyout clause.
