Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new one-year contract with AC Milan according to Sky in Italy.
Having already played there between the summers of 2010 and 2012, the veteran striker rejoined the ranks of the Rossoneri at the start of this year, following the expiration of his contract with MLS side LA Galaxy. Since then, he has played a total of 20 games in all competitions for the club, scoring 11 goals complemented by five assists.
Towards the end of the 2019/20 season, the 38-year-old expressed some reservation about staying at Milan, indicating that he would need to be convinced of their ambition to return to the very top of Italian and European football before he renewed his commitment. It can now only be assumed that he received some kind of assurance on that point.
His agent, Mino Raiola, denied reports that the new deal was agreed a few days ago, but the player himself has been dropping hints that he would be staying. As relayed by Sky, he put his name on the dotted line this morning (Monday).
