Liverpool were close to signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad during the summer window, but having made it clear they would be willing to pay the €60 million set in his release clause, the Spain international eventually chose not to make the switch.
Since then, Manchester City and Arsenal have both added Zubimendi to their respective lists of desired targets, and many believe Liverpool’s interest remains firm despite coach Arne Slot claiming the club have moved on.
And according to Spanish outlet Todofichajes, Zubimendi has now regretted his decision to decline Liverpool’s offer. He is apparently ready and more than willing to test his talents in the Premier League, and he certainly won’t be short on suitors.
As for Sociedad, they are aware there is nothing they can do to prevent the 25-year-old from leaving, providing the release clause is met, and they’re already making plans to reinvest that money and sign a suitable replacement.
