Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta claims that he is confident that Josep Guardiola will renew his contract at Camp Nou.
The talented coach has less than six months left on his deal with the Spanish giants, but that is something the club chiefs are already used to as Guardiola prefers to sign one-year extensions.
Recent reports have suggested that the tactician could decide to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season, but club’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is positive Guardiola will sign a new deal with the Catalans.
“He knows he has the possibility to renew on the table, I am not looking at my phone every 10 minutes,” Zubizarreta told Catalan radio station Rac1.
“Pep knows himself, he knows the dressing room and the club and he knows what is good for Barca.
“Every sign is favorable about his renewal, I do not have a list of potential replacements for him.”
Guardiola was appointed Barcelona manager in the summer of 2008 after spending one season coaching the club’s B side.
The 41-year-old has since led the team to 13 major trophies, which include two Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles.
Last season, Guardiola signed a new one-year deal on 8th February, so everybody at the club is hoping he will sign another contract extension before this month is over.
